Wise is the young

I was leafing through my old journal entries last night, and look what I found. Below is what my fourteen-year-old self wrote:

June 30, 2010

My dear Ela,

Please follow your heart. When you find that someone who you are happy to be with and who makes you feel that you are worth more than the world, hold on to him. Don't let go of him because you are afraid of the future. The now is yesterday's future. You have been waiting all your life for this, so don't waste the chance. Don't question reality and love. Things will work out, maybe not fast, maybe not forever, but it will work out. Whatever the circumstance may be, fight for him, fight for love. Don't break his heart, and don't let him break yours. Trust in love.

Wow, just wow. Sure I was corny, but I did make some sense. Although I won't take credit, given that love, of course, always makes sense. And do I hear peace as I read my younger self's words? Ah yeah, I hear peace. I hear innocence. I hear trust. I hear hope. I hear myself.

Damn, what happened to me?
